Making Adventure Accessible
BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES THE FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

We believe the outdoors should be open to everyone.
Through adaptive equipment, innovative programs, and strong partnerships, we’re breaking down barriers and expanding access for people with mobility challenges.

A Nationwide Network of Adaptive Adventure

We’re not doing this alone. We’re building a National Network for Outdoor Accessibility—a growing coalition of state programs, nonprofits, and adaptive leaders who are already doing the work in their communities and want to join forces to do even more. Together, we’re creating a unified front that expands access, shares resources, and strengthens advocacy for adaptive outdoor adventures—state by state, trail by trail.

Our Partners Include:

  • Michigan DNR
  • Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
  • David's Chair
  • Aimee Copeland Foundation - All Terrain Georgia
  • Minnesota DNR
  • State of Texas Parks
  • National State Parks Association
  • Opossum House Accessibility
  • Bryce Canyon National Park
  • Outdoor Access Project
  • And many more across the U.S.

How We're Making it happen

We team up with researchers, healthcare pros, and park leaders to better understand the real-world challenges individuals with mobility limitations face when accessing outdoor spaces. Through these collaborations, we gather insights, share stories, and explore data that inform smarter, more inclusive design and equipment solutions. Whether it's studying how different terrains affect mobility or identifying gaps in park infrastructure, our goal is to turn research into action—creating outdoor spaces that are not just accessible, but welcoming and empowering for all.

Tow & Go Program

We're getting all-terrain mobility devices like trackchairs into the hands (and wheels) of people who need them—at no cost. Through our Tow & Go Initiative, we partner with state parks and local organizations to offer free adaptive equipment lending across the country.

National Access Map

We’re building a central hub where individuals can search for adaptive outdoor programs near them. Think: “Our Friends in Vermont” or “Our Friends in Georgia”—a user-friendly way to find trusted programs and accessible adventures nationwide.

Strategic Advocacy

We’re not just talking about access—we’re sitting at the table with outdoor industry leaders, healthcare systems, and policymakers, to make it happen. From national conversations to local trailheads, we’re building partnerships that expand opportunities for everyone.

Resources for Local Programs

We support our network members with tools, templates, funding alerts, and best practices. Whether it’s a small-town nonprofit or a state-level initiative, we’re helping strong programs become even stronger.

Why It Matters

Access to the outdoors is about more than recreation—it’s about freedom, connection, and quality of life.

We’ve seen lives changed when people get back outside, and we’re committed to making that possible for everyone.
