OUR
INITIATIVES
The Action Foundation serves as a conduit for expanding outdoor accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges. We connect local organizations, community efforts, and national initiatives to create more unified, inclusive access to the outdoors. From championing accessibility in state and national parks to supporting adaptive equipment solutions and microgrants, we help bridge gaps and amplify impact—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience adventure, freedom, and connection in nature.

Trailblazing Together
We team up with researchers, healthcare pros, and park leaders to better understand the real-world challenges individuals with mobility limitations face when accessing outdoor spaces. Through these collaborations, we gather insights, share stories, and explore data that inform smarter, more inclusive design and equipment solutions. Whether it's studying how different terrains affect mobility or identifying gaps in park infrastructure, our goal is to turn research into action—creating outdoor spaces that are not just accessible, but welcoming and empowering for all.

National Parks Accessibility Initiative
At The Action Foundation, our accessibility initiatives focus on creating practical, thoughtful ways for individuals with mobility challenges to enjoy the outdoors. We believe accessibility doesn’t require paving every trail—it’s about removing barriers and providing the right tools, equipment, and support to make outdoor spaces more inclusive. Through partnerships with parks, communities, and organizations, we work to expand access while honoring the natural beauty of each environment.
Tow & Go
For many individual with disabilities, outdoor recreation opportunities like hunting, fishing, hiking, and off-road exploration are limited due to inaccessible terrain. The Tow & Go program changes that by providing acccess to adaptive all-terrain mobility equipment through a mobile lending system.
The Tow & Go Program makes it easy for individuals with mobility challenges to explore the outdoors by offering free access to all-terrain mobility equipment. Whether you're planning a hike, a day at the lake, or time on the trail with family, our reservation system allows you to easily borrow the equipment you need. Simply choose your location, pick the dates that work for you, and we’ll handle the rest—giving you the freedom to focus on the adventure ahead.
If you can’t find a Tow & Go location near your destination, we’ve got you covered. Through our network of partners, we can help connect you with the right equipment for your adventure—whether it’s a track chair, beach wheelchair, or other mobility solution. Our goal is to make sure everyone has the support they need to access and enjoy the outdoors, no matter where the journey leads.

Outdoor Adventure Grant
The Action Foundation’s Outdoor Adventure Grants provide funding for all-terrain mobility equipment, helping individuals with disabilities gain greater access to outdoor spaces and experiences. These grants are designed to reduce financial barriers and support those seeking freedom, independence, and adventure through adaptive gear such as all-terrain mobility power devices.
While the current grant application window is not open at this time, we encourage interested applicants to follow us for updates and be ready when the next round becomes available.
