The Action Foundation Hosts First-Ever Empowering Adventure Luncheon, Announces Tow & Go Program Launch

The Action Foundation proudly hosted its first-ever Empowering Adventure Luncheon, a gathering of community leaders, partners, and supporters committed to expanding outdoor access for all. This inaugural event marked a major milestone with the announcement of the upcoming launch of the Tow & Go Program, designed to remove barriers and open the outdoors to veterans, individuals with disabilities, older adults, and families.

The luncheon featured keynote speaker Joe Schmit, KSTP-TV sports broadcaster, author, and motivational speaker, who delivered a powerful message on leadership, influence, and the importance of investing in others. His words echoed the heart of Tow & Go—creating opportunities, restoring dignity, and changing lives through access to the outdoors.

Launching this fall, Tow & Go will begin in partnership with Southwest West Central Service Cooperative and Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Through this collaboration, the program will provide communities with all-terrain adaptive equipment such as Action Trackchairs, all-terrain strollers, and hiking chairs, housed in branded trailers for easy access. These trailers will rotate across high-visibility locations or be placed in static sites, ensuring people in rural and underserved communities have the tools they need to explore and belong in nature.

“This program is about more than equipment,” said Audra Klinkner, Executive Director of The Action Foundation. “It’s about health, equity, and opportunity. Tow & Go gives veterans, families, and individuals with disabilities the freedom to access the outdoors, and it gives communities a tangible way to show that inclusion matters.”

The first-ever Empowering Adventure Luncheon highlighted the momentum behind The Action Foundation’s mission and the partnerships that make it possible. With national attention building—including collaboration with the National Park Service, veteran organizations, and a coalition of accessibility leaders—Tow & Go is positioned to become the first national network of outdoor accessibility.
