The Action Foundation Highlights Outdoor Accessibility with Congresswoman Fischbach and Rep. Swedzinski at ATZ Manufacturing
The Action Foundation recently had the opportunity to share its mission and impact with Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach and State Representative Chris Swedzinski during a visit held at ATZ Manufacturing, home of the Action Trackchair. The discussion highlighted how innovative adaptive equipment and collaborative partnerships are transforming lives for individuals with disabilities by opening access to the outdoors.

During the visit, The Action Foundation showcased its Tow & Go Program, a national initiative designed to remove barriers to outdoor recreation for veterans, individuals with disabilities, older adults, and families. By equipping communities with all terrain adaptive equipment—including Action Trackchair®, all terrain strollers, and hiking chairs—Tow & Go ensures that those historically excluded can enjoy parks, trails, and community spaces.
Congresswoman Fischbach and Representative Swedzinski heard firsthand stories about how access to adaptive equipment is restoring dignity, improving health, and creating opportunities for people with disabilities. These stories underscored the real-world impact of programs like Tow & Go and the importance of ensuring continued support for accessibility efforts.
“We are committed to making sure no one is left behind when it comes to experiencing the outdoors,” said Audra Klinkner, Executive Director of The Action Foundation. “Having the opportunity to share these stories with Congresswoman Fischbach and Representative Swedzinski at ATZ Manufacturing demonstrates the power of innovation, partnerships, and advocacy working together for inclusion.”
The event also highlighted the unique role of ATZ Manufacturing, which produces adaptive mobility products like the Action Trackchair that are central to The Action Foundation’s work. Together, this collaboration between nonprofits, manufacturers, healthcare partners, and elected officials is building a stronger foundation for outdoor accessibility in Minnesota and beyond.
